Detailed Itinerary for the Chongqing One Day Tour

6:40–7:20 AM: We provide free pick-up service at designated locations in downtown Chongqing.

Your tour guide will inform you of the exact pick-up time one day in advance.

Once all guests are collected, the coach will depart together to start the full-day trip.

People’s Square & Chongqing Three Gorges Museum (Exterior Photo Stop)

Chongqing People’s Square opened in 1997, the same year Chongqing became a direct-controlled municipality.

The square is paved with granite stones and equipped with a musical fountain. Flowers and green plants grow here all year round.

Chongqing People’s Grand Hall stands at the front of the square with a unique architectural style.

Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum sits behind the square.

We will stop here for a short time. You can take photos of the square, the museum and the Grand Hall from outside.

The guide will adjust the length of the stop according to real-time traffic conditions.

Liziba Light Rail “Through-Building” Viewing Platform (Tour duration: at least 20 minutes)

The Liziba Light Rail is a world-famous internet-famous attraction.

The light rail train runs straight through a residential building. This amazing scene is one of the most popular photo spots in Chongqing.

When we arrive at the viewing platform, you can find your favourite shooting positions.

Wait for the light rail to pass and capture this iconic Mountain City scene.

Bank of Communications (Republic of China Era) Vault, Liu Xiang Mansion, and Former Site of the National Government’s Military Commission

Admission tickets are included in the tour fee and pre-purchased by our travel agency.

This area used to be an important financial centre in old Chongqing.

The Liziba Branch of the Bank of Communications was built here during the Republic of China period.

The whole complex is built along the hillside, including office buildings and dormitories with distinctive historic features.

The underground vault and air-raid shelter are well preserved.

You can learn about Chongqing’s financial history from the last century on site.

Huayan Scenic Area (tour duration: at least 60 minutes)

Huayan Scenic Area brings together mountains, lakes, caves, forests and ancient temples.

The park maintains a peaceful atmosphere. Ancient buildings with red walls and grey tiles are decorated with delicate carvings.

Far away from city crowds, it is a great place for slow walks, photos and enjoying the quiet beauty of traditional Chinese gardens.

Bai Mansion (minimum visit duration: 40 minutes; on-site guide not included)

Bai Mansion was originally a countryside villa built by a local warlord.

Later, the building was turned into a special detention centre with profound historical meaning.

Please take your time to visit the site and understand its history respectfully.

Zhazidong (minimum visit duration: 30 minutes; on-site guide not included)

Zhazidong is surrounded by mountains on three sides and a valley on the fourth side. The location is very hidden.

It operated as a secret detention centre in the past, where many touching historical stories took place.

⚠️ Important Reminder: The attraction closes every Monday.

If Zhazidong cannot be visited due to closure, we will replace it with Shibati, Mountain City Trail or Danzishi Old Street.

Ciqikou Millennium Ancient Town (minimum 60-minute visit, free independent time)

Formerly named Longyin Town, Ciqikou Ancient Town is close to the city centre and represents the original look of old Chongqing.

It has been a busy land and water trading market since the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The ancient town retains traditional architecture. You can taste local snacks and browse handicraft shops during free time.

Two Rivers Cruise (Kowloon Ferry or Hongci Line; cruising time: about 60 minutes)

Cruise tickets are included in your tour package and pre-booked by our agency.

No refund will be provided if you skip the cruise.

The ship sails along the Yangtze River and Jialing River. You may witness the natural confluence of two different-coloured river water.

You can enjoy a series of Chongqing river-crossing bridges and admire the city skyline from the water.

Sky Curtain · Leyou Observation Tower

The observation tower faces the Yangtze River, overlooks Yuzhong Peninsula and backs onto Nanshan Mountain.

From the high platform, you can enjoy the full panoramic view of Chongqing and river landscapes.

It is a perfect spot to photograph the unique landscape of mountain city and river city. Access is optional.

Yangtze River Cableway (Complimentary attraction, no refund if skipped)

The Yangtze River Cableway is a landmark transport in Chongqing, known as an aerial river-crossing cable car.

The cable car travels between high-rise buildings and crosses the wide Yangtze River.

During the ride, you can overlook the integrated mountain and river scenery of Chongqing from multiple angles.

⚠️ Notice: If the cableway stops operation for maintenance or you decide not to take it voluntarily, no cash refund is available for this complimentary item.

At the end of the itinerary, the coach will drop you off near Hongyadong Folk Custom Area.

Important Notes for Your Chongqing City Tour

If Bai Mansion or Zhazidong are temporarily closed under official policies, the guide will arrange alternative attractions: Shibati, Mountain City Trail or Danzishi Old Street.

On the premise of keeping all planned visiting hours unchanged, our guide can adjust the visiting order of attractions according to traffic and tourist crowds.

Yangtze River Cableway is a complimentary benefit. Two Rivers Cruise and Republic of China historic site tickets are pre-purchased. No refunds for voluntarily unused items.

The shuttle bus fee of 20 RMB at Zhazidong Scenic Area needs to be paid by visitors on site.
